Lithuania is situated on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea and borders Latvia on the north, Belarus on the east and south, and Poland and the Kaliningrad region of Russia on the southwest. It is a country of gently rolling hills, many forests, rivers and streams, and lakes. Its principal natural resource is agricultural land. Lithuania owes much to the rich cultural currents of central Europe : it once shared an empire with neighboring Poland that stretched from the Baltic Sea almost to the Black Sea . Its capital Vilnius boasts a Baroque Old Town that is the largest in Eastern Europe and praised as the 'New Prague’.
The Education in Lithuania is highly structured. They have Masters Degree Studies those extent their knowledge in Political Science and public administration and develop the skills necessary for conducting academic research. The programs offered are International Relations and Diplomacy, European Studies, Comparative politics, European Public Administration and Public Administration. The BA study programme is currently one of the most prestigious Bachelor programmes in Lithuania which also creates the biggest competition among the applicants.
