Alberta is a province in the western interior of Canada. The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program could be a great way for you to immigrate to Canada. To be nominated for this program, you must have skills to fill a job shortage in Alberta. You must also be able to support your family. This program is run under the government of Canada.
Once you have applied to federal Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), you can indicate you are interested in the Alberta Express Entry Stream. A limited number of applicants will be nominated.
You may receive a Notice of Interest letter from Alberta if:
-
You have stated an interest in immigrating to Alberta permanently.
-
You have an occupation that can help Alberta’s economic or diversification plans.
-
You have an Alberta job/job offer or work experience.
-
You meet a minimum score of 300 in the system (subject to change).
Students may also be chosen under this program or those with family in Alberta.
Temporary foreign workers may also apply under the Alberta Opportunity Stream. These workers must be working or have a job offer to work full-time in Alberta. Other eligibility criteria involve occupation, education, experience, and language.
If chosen for either of these programs, you can immigrant and work in Alberta. This could be your path to become a Permanent Resident of Canada.
