Express Entry Update as of August 21, 2015: Who is applying and from where?

The overwhelming majority of “Express Entry” candidates are citizens of India. Citizens of India represent 43.7% of the total “Express Entry Pool”, followed by citizens of the Philippines (7.3%), China (6.7%), Pakistan (5.5%), Nigeria (4.7%), Iran, (2.4%), Bangladesh (1.9%), British (1.8%), Egypt (1.8%), and Ireland (1.3%). These “Top Ten Countries” represent 77.1% of the “Express Entry Pool”.

The top countries of nationality of Express Entry candidates (about 77% of the pool) are consistant with the top nationalities of applicants for FSW, FST and CEC applications of 2014 indicating a similar level of interest in Canada both before and after launch of Express Entry.
The top countries of residence have remained relatively the same over the last 4 months
There is no change in the ranking of country of residence and citizenship since the last report on August 10th
Except for S Korea and United States, the nationality profile of the candidates residing in the top countries of residence is the same as the top countires of citizenship ranking.
For those who don’t understand what Country of residence and citizenship means, let me explain. If a person who is a citizen of India but resides in UAE, his country of citizenship is India and his country of residence is UAE.
