Government of Canada invests $25,000,000 to transform Église Saint‑Jean‑Baptiste

October 14, 2026 · Updated October 19, 2026

Under the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program, a heritage church in Québec City will become a cultural, community and tourism hub.

Ottawa’s funding will turn Québec City’s Église Saint‑Jean‑Baptiste into an accessible cultural and community hub—welcome for newcomers, students, workers, employers and families, with inclusive space and student involvement in heritage carpentry training.
